About Us

Cascadia Media Lab is an arts organization based in the Pacific Northwest dedicated to broadening access to film and media education through workshops, mentorship, and apprenticeships. Cascadia Media Lab empowers aspiring filmmakers of all ages to tell their stories and build sustainable creative careers while prioritizing inclusion, regional storytelling, and hands-on learning.

Our mission is to amplify emerging voices through the craft and creativity of storytelling.

“We are cultivating new independent voices in the Pacific Northwest.”

Transforming Access to Film Education

Cascadia Media Lab is a community‑rooted creative hub dedicated to expanding access to film education, mentorship, and paid creative opportunities in the Pacific Northwest. We support emerging filmmakers through hands‑on workshops, year‑round programming, and apprenticeship pathways that connect artists to real clients and real experience.

Over the next four years, we’re building a sustainable ecosystem for storytellers: establishing our Queen Anne headquarters, launching and scaling our Essentials of Filmmaking and Skills Lab programs, developing the Creative Consultancy Apprenticeship, launching a new narrative apprenticeship, and expanding into youth programming and community membership.

Our vision is simple: a region where every storyteller — regardless of background or resources — has the tools, training, and community needed to build a creative life.
